Like many American rock and roll films, pits
youngsters and their music against repressive authorities. In this case,
young Muslim musicians roil the leaders of their Paris neighborhood by
playing western-influenced music. It is a troubling sign of the dangers
of extremism that this light, enjoyable musical comedy resulted in death
threats for its director.
Not rated. Contains some vulgar language.
