This film is set in the rural lowlands of southern Vietnam in the 1930s,
just prior to the Japanese occupation of WWII. It is a coming-of-age-story
about a young farm boy who must find his own way and sense of self when
his father becomes too sick to work.
Beautifully photographed, the film won an award for best film at the
Amiens International Film Festival in 2004 and best cinematography at
the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 2005
